College of Arts and Crafts (Vyzhnytsia)
The college was founded in 2004 on the basis of Vyzhnytsia Applied Arts School named after V. Shkribliak as non-affiliated subdivision of Chernivtsi National University named after Yurii Fedkovych.
The college trains students majoring in:
- Arts and Crafts:
- Artistic wood-carving
- Artistic metal engraving (jeweler's art)
- Artistic forging
- Artistic weaving
- Decorative embroidery, clothes design
- Fine arts and drawing
- The college comprises the departments of: Arts and crafts and Fine arts and drawing
The faculty, represented by 24 instructors of the appropriate university departments, provides teaching of Humanitarian and Socio-Economic subjects.
The teaching staff of the college is doing an extensional research aiming at the revival of traditional Bukovynian folk arts, neglected techniques. The improvement of teaching and educational process is in the focus of the college activities.
The departments of the college have close ties with their counterparts in Lviv National Academy of Arts, Uzhhorod Art Institute, Kyiv Institute for Advertising, Kosiv LNAA Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts and others.
The faculty and the students constantly take part in regional, national and international art exhibitions. A student of the college won the national competition in Odessa for the best jewel piece in 2006. Students of the college became laureates and prizewinners at the 6th International Exhibition “Jewels Show 2007/Spring”.
There is an ample opportunity for sport activities and amateur art performance in the college.
